Northwards 1904 mansion

21 Rockridge Rd, Parktown, Johannesburg ,   Rosebank & The Parks          011 447 9264     more than a year ago
This historic house was designed by the architects Baker, Masey and Sloper in 1904 for John Dale Lace, owner of the Lace Diamond Mine, and his glamorous wife, Josie, of whom many tales are told. It then became the home of Sir George Albu.
Classical chamber music concerts happen here on Sunday afternoons once a month between February and November, and tours of the 52-room mansion can be arranged at other times. Microadventure Tours also offer a tour of Northwards.
