The Americans from Deerhoof will perform for the first time in Bucharest, on Saturday, February 11, at Control Club.
Known for musical innovations in the realm of noise and experimental pop , the cult band recently released their 18th studio album, Actually, You Can .
Formed in 1994 in San Francisco, Deerhoof currently consists of drummer Greg Saunier (founding member), Satomi Matsuzaki on bass and vocals, and guitarists John Dieterich and Ed Rodriguez .
With a catalog of 18 studio albums spanning a variety of styles from punk, indie rock and noise to experimental pop, Deerhoof always opt for bold narratives and groundbreaking sonic explorations .
 
The penultimate album, the prophetic Future Teenage Cave Artists , released in 2020 and praised by music critics, has as its theme post-apocalyptic visions and novel recording techniques.
Deerhoof's latest disc – Actually, You Can (Joyful Noise Recordings, 2021) – characterized by the band as baroque gone DIY, is a sound mosaic of power pop, garage funk and noise rock that aims to produce a liberating shock from purgatory current society.
