It's no mystery that hygiene in the days of old used to be a wholly different affair, with otherwise perfectly reasonable people resorting to a single bath a year, fearing their skin would rub off otherwise, and other such shenanigans. This exhibition tracks the mentality shift that occurred in the past 200 years, as indoor plumbing started becoming commonplace and the bathroom grew to be a status symbol. On display: early washing machines, tubs on wheels, ads for cosmetics, make-up containers, sturdy clothes irons, a reconstructed barbershop, and a glorious array of chamber pots.
