Św. Ducha Footbridge

  Długie Pobrzeże 23 ,   Old Town         16 Sep 2022
This marvellous modern bridge extending from ul. Św. Ducha to Granary Island opened as recently as August 2020. Quite a novelty, the bridge has a fixed base running parallel to the riverbank on which the bridge rests when closed for pedestrians so that boats may pass through; the bridge then pivots 90 degrees to allow pedestrians to cross. When the bridge is resting on its base it resembles a submarine cresting out of the water.

The footbridge works on a regular schedule posted on either side. Between 9:00 and 20:00, the bridge remains open for 30 mins for pedestrians and then closes for 30 minutes to allow watercraft to pass through on the Motława. Between 20:00 till 9:00, it remains open for pedestrians, but will be momenterily closed upon the request of a watercraft.
