Filmed over two years and across four continents, Food Fighter is a documentary film that follows the story of Australian self-proclaimed “accidental activist” and social entrepreneur Ronni Kahn. Originally the head of a successful corporate events company that created million-dollar dinners, in 2004, frustrated by the wastage of food her company created, Kahn left the catering industry and founded food rescue charity OzHarvest.

Kahn explains that “what I care about most, is making sure that hungry people get surplus food, first I wanna fix it here, and then we’ll take it to the world.” Tackling an annual food waste bill of over 20 billion dollars, Kahn challenges politicians and businessmen alike, partnering with the United Nations and serving as a voice of accountability to governments. Food Fighter tracks the incredible journey of the OzHarvest movement while also revealing an intimate portrait of a trailblazing woman who is concurrently undergoing a personal emotional rollercoaster dealing with the death of her daughter-in-law and the recent birth of her first grandchild.
