The sweeping score of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera in three acts has been specially rearranged for this romantic ballet version based on Alexandre Dumas’ tragic love story, <em>the Lady of the Camellias</em>. Dumas’ famous book tells a story of love, sadness, and aristocracy in 19th century France where lead character Marguerite Gautier lives a life of opulence which attracts many admirers, but still lacks love until she meets the young bourgeoise gentleman Armand who convinces her to end her life as a courtesan.<br />

The role of the tragic heroine is danced by Shannon Glover, Burnise Silvius and Claudia Monja. The role of Marguerite's lover Armand rotates between three principle dancers; Buenos Aires-based ballet dancer; Juan Pablo Ledo, who has been the principal dancer for many popular productions around the world including <em>The Nutcracker</em> as part of the prestigious Ballet del Teatro Colón, Daniel Szybkowski from Cape Town City Ballet<em> </em>and Michael Revie.<br />
