With Valentine's Day around the corner you can expect plenty of love-filled events this week, but of course this isn't the only game in town. Here's what you need to know about the week ahead.

Sat, Feb 11 – Book your tickets for the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO) Valentine's Gala concert at the Linder Auditorium.
Tue, Feb 14 – Step into the kitchen on Valentine's Day with a couples cooking class called Love at first bite at Vitality HealthyFood Studio.
Tue, Feb 14 – Head to the Rand Club for a magnificent Valentine's Day dinner with a performance by Tamara Day.
Fri, Feb 17 – Treat your date to the alluring sounds of the Ariel Juana duo with Date Night at Rand Club.

Wed, Feb 8–Fri, Feb 10Mix Cocktail Bar has the end of your week covered with Wednesday Casual Sax with Kopano Jazz Collective, V is for Vinyl and In-Tune.
Fri, Feb 10  – Fridays@Farmers is your go-to for food and live performances. Due to rain, this week's edition has been cancelled but be sure to pop in next week.
Sat, Feb 11 – Celebrate International Mother Language Day with Goethe Institut. It promises a day of food, music, learning and fun.
Sat, Feb 11Back to Live brings Zoë Modiga, Mandisi Dyantis and DJ Khenzero to Constitution Hill for a night of toe-tapping tunes.
Sat, Feb 11 – The Dig launch the first of their five-part Intimate Sessions with French–Afropean duo DjeuhDjoah & Lieutenant Nicholson at Mr Vinyl at 44 Stanley.

Tue, Feb 14 – Get insights into The Centre for the Less Good Idea's new project Thinking in the Ether with The Open Moment.

A good cause

Fri, Feb 17 – Don your flip-flops for CHOC's Annual Flip Flop Day and support them by getting your sticker for R10 at your nearest PNA, Tekkie Town or choc.org.za.
