Join local history and heritage enthusiasts Johannesburg Heritage Foundation for a guided walk through Parktown visiting three of Joburg's most beautiful old mansions. The beautifully restored North Lodge is often described as Parktown's most romantic mansion, and was modelled on French and Scottish castles with various hidden rooms. It is also reputed to be haunted! Just down the road Eikenlaan, built in 1906 for the eminent photographer James Goch, is a classic Edwardian home that is now a popular branch of the Mikes Kitchen chain. The final stop on the tour is Outeniqua, a grand building originally constructed in 1904 for the manager of Ohlsson’s Breweries.

The tour starts from Wits Business School, at 2 St David’s Place, Parktown where parking is available. Email mail@joburgheritage.co.za to book.
