A dual exhibition by Naledi Chai and Ditiro Mashigo opens at Gallery 1 in Rosebank; the result of an open call to collaboration from INCCA (Independent Network for Contemporary Culture & Art).

Chai is a Johannesburg-based multidisciplinary artist practicing in visual and sonic mediums. A profile on the artist from INCAA sets the stage: "Chai’s language is a femme vernacular. It collects. It retracts and refracts. A post-biblical spiritual study, told from the perspective of the congregant that the rapture left behind..." Mashigo's work travels seamlessly along a similar current; the Limpopo-born fashion and textile designer weaves together her ardour for art and fashion with her profound spiritual odysseys. In this exhibition both artists show new and recent works created throughout the course of the year.

The exhibition opens on Thu, Nov 2 at Gallery 1 at Keyes Art Mile as part of First Thursdays and runs until Thu, Nov 30. RSVP with info@incca.org.za
