Nosipho Motsamai is a Joburg-based artist and designer who uses art to study their inner selves, presentations and gender. Motsamai is first and foremost a photographer but she does not let hersef be constrained to one medium and works across the creative spectrum.

Her exhibition To Children at Constitution Hill investigates childhood trauma, how it effects the ways in which we act later, and how we move forward. In these works she identifies three underpinning themes: rememberance, acknowledgement and encouragement. The aim of the exhibition was not only to create work which allowed her to unearth and move forward from past traumas and shame, but to create the impetus and space for viewers to do the same.
