Taste the Movie SA was founded locally by Inez Essop in 2023 as her answer to the UK-based Taste the Film: a movie experience in which viewers are served food from the movie they’re watching. Based at Hyatt House Sandton, the team has created experiences with movies like Ratatoulie (a favourite), Matilda, The Devil Wears Prada, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and The Wolf of Wall Street.

The menu is striclty Halaal and each screening usually has five to six courses. Generally no children under 12 are allowed, making this a top pick for date night.
