The Artisan Weekly Fair is a new art-focused Sunday market curated by Maboneng's The Anthill at 281 Commissioner Street, an expansive premises that was once home to the Museum of African Design (MOAD) and which is now home to an art gallery, cafe, courtyard cafe-bar, function spaces and artist studios.

The Artisan Weekly Fair focuses on supporting artisans and entrepreneurial local independent producers based in the area with stalls specialising in textiles, clothing, jewellery and accessories, horticulture, books and thrift shopping. Of course with lunch the most important meal of the day there are plenty of food stalls (including vegan food) and gin tastings are also part of the experience.

While browsing the market make sure to also check out the latest contemporary art exhibitions at Gallery Fanon, a gallery which spotlights the work of young artists who work and live in the inner-city and make sure to be there at 15:00 and onwards when there's live music and Happy Hour drinks (16:00 to 18:00) at the adjoining cafe-bar Eden Poolside.

A day-night affair the market is open Saturdays from 10:00 to 21:00, located at 281 Commissioner Street, Maboneng.
