Recreating the last leg of their 2016 European tour, performance art and music ensemble The Brother Moves On returns to The Orbit for a night celebrating Africa's independent bands that gained international recognition but remain relatively unknown to South African audiences.

First conceived by London nightclub Total Refreshment and curated by Lexus Blondin (the same mind behind London's popular Boiler Room sessions), the last leg of The Brother Moves On's European tour focused on the music of jazz musician Batsumi, often heralded as the grandfather of indie township astro afro free jazz and the jazz group Malombo, South Africa's longest-running jazz band.

For this special concert, The Brother Moves On are joined by indie vocalist Itai Hakim and saxophonist Mthunzi Mvubu as they pay homage to Batsumi's songbook and Blondin's Church of Sound festival, followed by a set of The Brother Moves On originals.
