Catch the most spectacular performances by New York's Metropolitan Opera on the big screen in HD at Cinema Nouveau in Rosebank.

As part of Ster Kinekor's Met Live series Cinema Nouveau presents five screenings of the Met's latest production of Mozart's opera The Magic Flute in the original German (with subtitles).

One of Met Music Director Emeritus James Levine's signature pieces, the production stars tenor Charles Castronovo as the fairy-tale prince Tamino and South African soprano Golda Schultz as Pamina. One of the youngest sopranos in The Metropolitan company, The New York Times has described Schulz as “the true star of Flute as Pamina, her voice buoyant yet substantial, creamy but never heavy”.

Described by The Met as "a sublime fairy tale" this outstanding production of Mozart’s magical fable "captures both the opera’s earthy comedy and its noble mysticism".
