On Sunday November 11 Constitution Hill in Braamfontein hosts a free film screening of the new American documentary This Changes Everything, which examines the layers of systemic gender inequality that permeate through Hollywood in the wake of the watershed #MeToo movement. This Changes Everything premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in September and features interviews with leading female actors and directors who discuss their personal experiences with sexism in the industry and recount the role of filmmaking in feminism.

Constitution Hill hopes to gather hundreds of women to view the film and to provide a platform for discussion around creating more opportunities for women's participation in the film and creative arts industry in South Africa. The industry advocacy group Sisters Working in Film and Television (SWIFT), alongside influential creatives including poet Lebo Mashile, journalist Gail Smith and actress Sheila Munyiva, will lead a panel discussion following the film screening.

The screening of This Changes Everything is a stand-alone event taking place as part of the 2018 Joburg Film Festival, which showcases forty films from November 9 to 17 across Joburg (15 of which are by female directors or have a women-centred narrative).
