A massive toy extravaganza opens at Sandton City from Dec 9 to Jan 9. In addition to activations by top brands such as Hamleys, Build-a-Bear, Toy Kingdom and Lego, Toyland is also the venue for a live daily acrobat show (at 12:00 and 16:00 from Dec 9–24) and live ballet dance performance (daily at 14:00 and 18:00 from Dec 16–24).

Santa Claus is also there daily in the run up to Christmas (from 09:00 unti 18:00) to meet the kids and hear their wishes and there's also the option to purchase a special photography package. On Dec 24 Santa will be there until 14:00 as he needs to leave early to start delivering gifts.

The Disney Chari-tree is also back this year. A towering ten metre high tree adorned with more than 400 plush toys, the trees is an invitation for shoppers to give back and donate R50 towards the Smile Foundation who help children who have undergone facial corrective surgery. And finally for gift wrapping don't forget to visit one of the gift wrapping stations raising money for the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
