As the winner of the 2023 Blessing Ngobeni Art Prize (BNAP), Tshepo Phokojoe spent three months in residence at Ellis House Art Studios creating work for a solo show. The resulting exhibition, Woven Comforts, is now on at Circa Gallery in Rosebank for a short time only. From the formative womb to our physical homes and all they hold and represent, Phokojoe's hand-stitched, hessian cloth pieces invite a reflection on the very human desires for safety and belonging.
