Every weekend, The Troyeville’s rooftop comes alive with The Hangout at The Troyeville, a diverse line-up of live music, comedy, and community – a true celebration of Joburg’s creative spirit. From the revival of rock icons by Cantrel and the dreamy alt-folk of Shotgun Tori, to new age rap from Anzo, and the avant-pop explosion of Boo! – there’s something for everyone. Fri, Oct 10: Anzo

The Troyeville Hotel comes alive with rapper and vocalist, Anzo. Born and raised in KZN, Anzo is a talented rapper with an immense passion for writing and performing. This show is bound to be a massive party with early bird tickets already sold out. Book here.

Sun, Oct 12: Georgetown and Apple Gule

The Hangout at The Troyeville springs to life with Georgetown, a genre-blending, suitcase-thumping, mandolin-plucking folk-pop foursome from Pretoria. The opener is Apple Gule, charismatic eSwatini singer and songwriter. Come for the high-spirited harmonies, stay for the storytelling, and raise a glass to great tunes. Book here.

Fri, Oct 19: Shadowclub and Later Alligator

The Hangout at The Troyeville transforms into a rock arena with performances by Shadowclub and Later Alligator. You can expect pure rock and roll from Shadow Club and swamp-rock riffs from Later Alligator – a lineup that promises an unforgettable Sunday for Joburg’s live music lovers. Book here.

Sat, Oct 26: Boo! and Kat & Wolf

The Hangout springs to life with Boo! and Kat & Wolf. The Troyeville Hotel sets the scene for a night with legendary South African avant-pop band Boo! alongside the soulful duo Kat & Wolf. Book here.

Sun, Nov 2: Henry Ate

Henry Ate comes to The Hangout at The Troyeville on Nov 2 for an unforgettable night of alt-rock, nostalgia, and new music from one of South Africa’s pioneering ’90s bands. Book here. 

Sat, Nov 8: No Friends of Harry

On Nov 8, The Hangout at The Troyeville transforms into a shadowy, electrifying space as gothic alt-rock band No Friends Of Harry take the stage, joined by Polar Dust and DJ Kerry-Anne for a night of brooding, atmospheric sounds. Book here. 

A full bar and food menu from The Troyeville's wonderful restaurant is on offer before and during the shows. Enjoy these performances alongside sweeping views of the Joburg skyline, and remember, it's an outdoor venue, so dress for the weather.

Note: Security personnel are stationed at both The Troyeville's front and back entrances. Safe parking is available on Wilhelmina Street, located at the rear of the hotel. The front entrance is perfect for Uber, Bolt, and taxi drop-offs and collections.
