The tranquil Rosebank boutique hotel Clico owes its name to owner and founder Jeanette Schwegman's love of bubbly (the name Clico refers to the French label Veuve Clicquot), and on Friday October 18, as is tradition the hotel celebrates World Champagne Day.  Actually there is always a question about when this date falls, but anyone bubbly fans will find no cause to argue with any day being Champagne Day. 

For the restaurant's Champagne Day celebrations guests can enjoy an opulent four-course menu by head chef Neo Mkhwanazi, paired with two different varieties of Veuve Clicquot Champagne, and accompanied by live music. The menu includes a superb roasted sweet tomato soup, cumin and beet lamb fillet and the spring chicken (of course with options for vegetarians), and make sure to leave space for the excellent goji berry and blackcurrant mousse encased in chocolate.
