This perpetually packed veteran restaurant is one of the most popular in Kraków and it's a damn shame. Meals are preceded by complimentary peanuts (huh?), the margaritas are strong but shallow, the spicy sauce is shockingly mild, there's not a black bean in sight and meals come buried beneath two sides of pickled cabbage. The cheerful Mexican cantina interior is the primary highlight and we can only guess that it's the novel and disorienting dissimilarity between Polish and Mexican cuisine that continues to make El Pueblo the coveted choice of every local couple out on a cheap date.

Actually their chili under zupa is very good. I look forward to it everytime I return to Krakow.
