One of Poland’s most exciting, inherently Polish musical acts, Warsaw Village Band plays innovative modern interpretations of traditional folk music from the Mazowsze region, Chopin’s beloved land. Staying loyal to folk traditions and instrumentation, WVB has revived interest in ancient folk instruments like the frame drum, cimbalom, suka (a finger-picked Polish fiddle) and hurdy-gurdy, while layering their music with electronic elements and digital textures that will appeal to today’s listeners of experimental indie-folk, post-rock and folktronica.

Lelek is a musical supergroup that reinterprets poems and songs from pre-Christian Slavdom. The music is hard to describe, but it draws from various musical environments combined with unique production to guarantee listeners a range of emotions. Drawing from a similar trick bag of ancient folk instruments as Warsaw Village Band, the stage show includes analog synthesisers, traditional Polish membranophones, fiddles, hurdy-gurdy and ethnic drums.
The concert is at Zet Pe Teo in Kraków at ul. Dolnych Młynów 10.
