Kraków New Year's Run

Quite removed from the glitzy club parties associated with New Year's Eve, this winter run has been a fun holiday event for decades. Participants are strongly encouraged to dress up in outlandish costumes (perhaps to feel less bad about missing out on Halloween, which isn't really celebrated around these parts) and some groups get quite creative with their thematic outfits. A great way to do something healthy before the debauchery of the evening, runners can choose one of two distances - either the "Dragon 5K" or "Joyful 10K". More for fun than competition, all those who manage to cross the finish line within 90 minutes receive a medal, a hot meal, and sweets. For some reason, bonus roses for the ladies are also a thing. Of all of Kraków's distance runs, this one is definitely the most fun to join, but it's also great for spectators.
