Located in the back, way back corner of the fearsome set of apartment blocks across from Plac Centralny (between the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre and PRL Museum), bushwhacking your way through the concrete jungle to find this oasis is a bit like stepping through the wardrobe into another world. The interior is tiny and a visit in winter is likely to find it shuttered altogether, but drop by in warm weather and you'll find yourself flabbergasted. Is it all a virtual projection? Isn't that grass a little too green? Are those bird songs just a looped recording?

With a lovely back patio overlooking the enormous Nowa Huta meadows (Łąki Nowahuckie - rumoured by conventional wisdom to be a mere myth), which seem to extend almost impossibly to the horizon, here you'll find families stretched out on beach chairs enjoying coffee, cakes, ice cream and craft beers, young folks playing frisbee, and kids rolling in the grass. A bit like having tea with Bigfoot, it's all quite surreal and will turn your expectations of Nowa Huta on their head.
