Description from the organisers:
Zadar, Split, Trogir, Šibenik, Dubrovnik – these are well-known Dalmatian resorts that we love to visit in the summer. They are associated with sunshine, azure sea, Mediterranean vegetation, cicadas, sacred art monuments and architecture dating back to ancient times. But Dalmatia is not just a holiday destination. It is a land full of contradictions. The same destination we are travelling to today was chosen at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries by the inhabitants of Galicia, including the Pusłowski family. Their journey in 1903 resulted in a photo album in which you can see not only the monuments of the cities, but also the people living there, the nature and cultural diversity of the region. During the meeting with Prof. Maciej Czerwiński, you will learn about the colourful Croatian culture and see how deeply it has become embedded in the collective imagination. You will find out how the myth of Dalmatia relates to reality. This will be facilitated by photographs from museum collections, viewed over a cup of aromatic coffee.
