MuFo Workshop: With a Tender Eye | Family stories

An album is a capsule of past events. The scene immortalised in the album took place only once, but strangely enough, it still continues. Each time the album is opened, it is accompanied by storytelling, which builds its successive layers over time. The Pusłowski family albums from the MuFo collection, created between 1893 and 1912, are a testament to the enthusiasm for a new medium – photography. They reflect what was amazing, yet at the same time the best and worst of those times. Chaos and order. The atmosphere of decline. They are beautiful and contradictory because they speak through silence.

During the September meeting, we will refer to the timeless power of the album. You will create your own small albums. You will think about how to tell stories through photography, how to choose photos and words to capture important moments and memories. No experience is necessary – all you need is enthusiasm and a few photos from your home archive. If possible, bring a few of your own family photographs with you.
