We often know the literary works but cannot visualise the faces of their authors. The exhibition attempts to remedy that by presenting 73 old books, 5 atlases and 14 maps from the collection of the National Museum in Kraków, published from the beginning of the 16th to 19th century. The books include portraits of writers, poets and scholars from Poland and various European countries who were writing from antiquity to the 19th century. Among the exhibited objects are not only works of writers of great epics of ancient Greece and Rome, Homer and Virgil, but also many writers who had been forgotten.
