One of MOCAK's most iconic exhibits showcases works by Stanisław Dróżdż (1939-2009), a Polish conceptual artist who actually considered himself a poet. Educated as a philologist, Dróżdż was no doubt inspired by his own ridiculous surname to experiment with language, and he became renowned for his 'concrete poetry' - works which used typography and other visual aspects like shape, size and spatial form to convey meaning. Words, letters, numbers, punctuation and symbols were inspirations for his work, which is categorised as visual art. He created prints, typescripts, objects, installations and interactive works. The works on display here are all part of MOCAK's permanent collection.
