Gospel music in southern churches of the United States has always been an incubator for future talent. Many African American singers who became icons first performed for church goers in small southern communities. Take 6 started their career in much the same way in Alabama. With their first album in 1987, they have won 10 Grammy Awards and become the most awarded vocal group in history. Quincy Jones described them as "the baddest vocal cats on the planet". Honing their craft in the house of god, they say they owe their success and continuity to "faith, friendship, respect and love for music". This is a rare opportunity to listen to this talented vocal ensemble.
