This mural on the building of the Language Institute of Adam Mickiewicz University honours poet, translator and literary critic Stanisław Barańczak. Born in Poznań in 1946, Barańczak studied at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and later became a lecturer there. He became well-known all over Poland and abroad for his own poetry, and his translations into Polish of William Shakespreare, T.S. Eliot, E.E. Cummings, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost W.H. Auden and many others. He also translated Polish works into English and won most of Poland's major literary prizes and honours. At the outbreak of martial law in 1981, Barańczak and his family left Poland for the United States, where he taught at Harvard for two decades before Parkinson's disease forced him to retire. He passed away in Newtonville, Massachusetts and is buried in historic Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.

This mural dates from 2016 and depicts Barańczak throwing a paper airplane with the text of his poem, 'A tak niewiele brakowało' (And So Little Was Missing).
