Ptasi Raj (ENG: Birds' Paradise) is a 188-hectare nature reserve on Sobieszewo Island, established in 1959. It features two coastal lakes—Karaś and Ptasi Raj—surrounded by reedbeds and alder thickets. The area protects marshes, dunes, and lakes, serving as a vital stopover for migratory birds. Over 200 bird species are found here, including the bittern, bluethroat, and little tern. A scenic nature trail with observation towers offers views of the reserve. Birdwatching is best during migration seasons. Entry is free year-round, though visitors should prepare for mosquitoes and limited parking in summer. A closed stone causeway protects bird habitats, particularly nesting waterfowl.
