Maluma describes himself as an urban pop singer and once stated in an interview “I am an urban performer, I am not reggaetonero. If you listen to my last album there are ballads, mambo, meringue and reggaeton and underground stuff. I like to show the versatility that I have to perform.”  On April 17, 2019 was released the song "Medellín" by Madonna and Maluma.
