Bridge Books

Bridge Books is a friendly independent bookstore owned by Griffin Shea, selling new and secondhand books with a focus on works by South African and African writers and poets. They've also got an amazing selection of children's books in all 11 South African languages. The bookshop has moved to Linden from Comissioner Street, where Shea's non-profit the African Book Trust still has its base. Bridge Books is the lead partner in the Joburg Literary District project, an umbrella for over 60 booksellers in the Joburg City Centre. Bridge Books hosts book launches, poetry nights and storytelling sessions, as well as a monthly walking tour of the fasctinating underground booksellers in the City Centre (booking essential).
