Czyżyny Hangar

  Os. 2 Pułku Lotniczego 26A ,   Czyżyny          (+48) 12 428 66 00     20 Feb 2026
Built in the 1930s as a hangar for aircraft, during World War II this massive pavilion was used by the military and bombed twice. After the war it was repaired and stored civilian aircraft up until 1963, when the accompanying airport was closed and the facilities were adopted by the Municipal Transport Company in Kraków, who used it as a bus depot with repair and maintenance workshops. Following a thorough renovation, today this large space is a branch of the Museum of Engineering & Technology (MIT).

Currently housing temporary exhibits, the hangar will eventually become home to MIT's large collection of historical transport vehicles, presenting the achievements of Polish motorisation against the backdrop of the country's difficult economic and social situation in the 20th century.
