Museum of Field Ordinance

This Museum of Warsaw branch strives to make a rather niche topic - religious structures within the Polish armed forces - interesting and accessible. Located in the cellars of the Military Cathedral, Warsaw’s main garrison church, the modern exhibition tells the stories of military-ranked priests, chaplains, and field bishops who provided religious services to Polish soldiers throughout the ages. Some of the artifacts, which include field altarpieces, clothing, and religious ornaments, date back to the 17th century. A dedicated room commemorates the religious figures who died in the 2010 Smoleńsk air disaster.
