From the late 19th century to today, the permanent exhibition traces the evolution of sports in Croatia, highlighting the pioneering efforts of Franjo Bučar, the father of modern Croatian sport, and the legacy of the Croatian Sokol movement. Visitors can follow the growth of countless disciplines, from football and basketball to parasport and sports for the deaf, discovering the milestones that put Croatia on the international stage. The upper floor celebrates modern achievements, with a particular focus on Olympic medals and world championship victories, showing the sheer dedication and talent of generations of Croatian athletes.

But this isn’t a dusty cabinet of curiosities. The museum is alive with interactivity. Two floors of exhibits are complemented by multimedia installations, virtual games, and a mobile app that lets you explore Croatian sports history before you even arrive. You can try your hand at digital challenges, test your knowledge, or simply marvel at the almost 500,000 objects in the museum’s collection. From jerseys and medals to photographs and archival documents, every piece tells a story, many donated directly by the athletes themselves.
