Things move fast in Croatia, and not a day goes by without something new popping up. Every time we return to a town, a new restaurant, bar or cafe seems to be grabbing everyone’s attention, and we can’t help but get caught up in the excitement. Keeping up with the new spots is one of the highlights of this lovely job, so we’ve put together a home for Croatia’s newest establishments. Enjoy!
Ođe Ođe
Trešnjevački trg 2, Zagreb
A playful name for a playful bistro, Ođe Ođe (a Dubrovnik form of saying “here, here”) is a new spot making waves in the heart of the city. The bistro is small but perfectly formed and a fabulous place for breakfast and brunch, with delightfully fresh dishes available to help you start the day in the best possible way. There is a homemade quality to the food that we’ll never tire of, and there are special daily dishes available depending on the ingredients that make their way into the kitchen. Excellent.

Koncept Bar
Tkalčićeva 63, Zagreb
What Koncept Bar lacks in a catchy name, it more than makes up for in style and character. You’ll struggle to find a more aesthetically pleasing spot in the heart of Zagreb, and this place is manna for photographers, whether they are looking for a hot cup of coffee to get things moving or a colourful cocktail to keep the night going. A welcome addition to Zagreb’s roster of alternative cafes, Koncept also hosts international and local DJs, so keep an eye on social media for upcoming events.
