First of all if you want to watch football live then you’ve got a couple of options which allow you to catch a game in the Polish league. Both Gdansk and Gdynia have clubs playing in the wonderfully named Polish Ekstraklasa. Check their fixtures in our What’s On section online. If it’s sport on the television you are after you’ll need to hunt around. With no bar in the city in possession of a foreign decoder there is no Sky Sports for instance. But don’t fear. Polish Canal Plus Sport have joined up with N Sport so the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian and French leagues and Champions League matches are all on one platform. Polish satellite television also shows some of the international rugby.
Places where you will find both the channels and a willingness to accommodate you are in Gdansk – Buddha, Irish Station and T29 at the Energa Stadion; in Sopot - Tapas du Rucola and the huge screen in Kava and in Gdynia - Piwiarnia Warka. Find where all of these are listed in our guide by checking the index at the back.
