Once used as an assembly plant for submarine parts during World War II and later serving as the main warehouse of the Gdańsk Shipyard, the largely-ignored U-boat hall has undergone a remarkable transformation and has been given a new lease of life in the form of Montownia!
Combining modernity with its industrial character, it offers a unique experience to visitors in the form of gastronomy, accomodation and much more. Montownia Food Hall, located on the ground floor, is the largest food hall in Gdańsk, with more than 20 restaurants and gastronomical concepts, varying from Asian to Alsatian, and even a curiously labelled 'Alpine' culinary offer. Visitors can expect good food and an even greater atmosphere throughout the day, and be able to confidently recommend this spot as being one of the best experiences to be had in the city. In various press releases, we understand that Montownia will have a zero plastic policy, with only ecologically-disposable dishes and utensils being served to diners! An exciting addition to Gdańsk's culinary scene, Montownia Food Hall promises to be a must-visit destination for both food and history lovers.
