A comfy block away from the main tourist trail and restaurant hustlers with menus in hand, Ostoja Café is everything a sane person needs when visiting Gdańsk Old Town - a quiet space, not too many plants, real exposed-brick not too many fancy hipster lights, and, most importantly, a decent range of beans and coffee production. In fact, it's no surprise that ostoja means 'refuge' in Polish, and we think that is a very apt name for this spot. On the subject of beans, find roasts from Rwanda, Ethiopia, Colombia, and Nicaragua to name a few. The magic can happen as espresso, drip, handpress and many more tricks! By the way, if you're a fan of the stoneware crockery that serves up your drinks and food, make sure you browse their selection of handicraft wares and exceptionally-carved candles by a local artist.
