Heinrich Aldegrever was a German painter and engraver, famous for the tiny size of his prints. He is considered one of a group of German Renaissance artists known as the "Little Masters." He is famous for making engravings of mythological and Biblical subjects such as the Twelve Labors of Hercules and the Story of Adam and Eve. Stylistically Aldegrever's work reflects the influence of Albrecht Dürer. Aldegrever produced almost 300 engravings in his lifetime, nearly all on a miraculously small scale. The exhibition features 5 newly acquired engravings by Heinrich Aldegrever from the Aleksander Belamin's collection.
