Resa Mashoodi is an Iranian artist, currently working in Berlin. He creates beautiful, fairytale-like images of women, using the 16th century-old glazing technique which involves applying a transparent layer of paint over another thoroughly dried layer of opaque paint. The effect is absolutely stunning - a painting acquires a glow and depth that cannot be surpassed using other techniques. The artist is the well-known fixture in the Berlin art underground - he used to work at the legendary Kunsthaus Tacheles, where he was one of the founders of the project Manufaktur, as well as running his own gallery, Ora et Labora. His Gdańsk exhibition will feature 23 works, including four from the Gdańsk Series.
