One of the oldest pubs in the Tri-City, U Szkota (ENG: At the Scot's) recreates the cozy atmosphere of a pub from the British Isles, with a discernably Scottish flavour (hence the name). Of course, much like the great northern nation, whiskey reigns supreme here, and you'll an impressive stock of hooch from many internationalities, including Irish, American, and Japanese. Finally, there is a huge range of Scotch (that means Scottish whiskey, in case you didn't already know) and the amount on the shelf is ever-increasing! Amongst the several dozen types of bottled beers and the few available on-tap, one of U Szkota's claim to fame is that they are the only bar in the Tri-City that offers beer with fruit! We are also quite impressed with the expert bartenders now at the helm, who have an incredible knack with cocktails - both classic and original. Drop in for all the usual celebrations, from the neighbourly St. Patrick's Day romp to Halloween and everything in between. Slainte!

In the past, we had a much lower opinion of U Szkota, once described by us 'cynical tourist magnet' marked with a Scottish flag on ul. Chlebnicka. We're happy to say that the bar we wrote about in 2012 has come a long way. We're unsure if that's thanks to a change in management or a newfound appreciation for their hospitable bit of real estate, but we extremely happy to recommend it now!
