The 2023 Bassline Fest takes place in the heart of Joburg at Constitution Hill with a packed line-up of exciting local and international acts in celebration of Africa Day – Thu, May 25.

For many festival-goers, the biggest attraction of Bassline Fest is the chance to experience some of Africa's most exciting musicians covering a range of different musical genres that reflect the rich diversity of the African continent. This year's line-up of acts from outside South Africa's borders is bigger than ever, with Cape Verde, Chad and Zambia all represented.

In particular, look out for a performance by this year's headliners South African singer Sjava and fellow local star DBN GOGO, a pioneer of the Amapiano sound. Other acts include South African Afro-house performer Simmy, Planetoids from Germany featuring South African-Zambian performer Namakau Star, Afro-futuristic act Afrotronix from Chad and Canada, Techno-Punk act Scúru Fitchádu hailing from Cape Verde and Portugal as well as dance hall act Fayazer from the French Reunion Island.
