Hallmark Hotel

  54 Siemert Rd, Maboneng ,   Maboneng          +27 11 402 0220     16 Sep 2020
Hallmark House in Maboneng was the much-anticipated design of leading Ghanaian-British architect David Adjaye whose work includes the landmark National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC. The building houses residential apartments (some of them owned by some of Johannesburg's most famous cultural icons) and a hotel.

Industrial chic with plenty of contemporary artwork and finishes, the hotel rooms opened in early 2017, each with a balcony offering city views. The 46-room 4-star hotel was recently bought and reopened under new ownership of Steyn Investments. There are grand plans in place that will unfold in 2020.

Home to the super-stylish and atmospheric landmark, Marabi Club, a fine dining and jazz music hotspot plus one of the city's coolest barbershops, Hallmark House looks set to become a favoured Joburg destination for its superbly impressive roof bar and weekend brunch spot that offers 350-degree views of the city from its wraparound balcony. The hotel also recently reopened its ground floor all-day eatery Thorn and is a great stop en route to a city experience in Maboneng.
