Getting around with the Gautrain buses

Connected to every Gautrain station are the Gaubuses and Midibuses that connect commuters to the surrounding suburbs. There are route maps and timetables at all Gautrain stations and bus stops, as well as online.
SCHEDULE
Buses arrive every 20 – 40 minutes from Mon – Fri, linked to the train service. Only some bus services operate on weekends, including the Parkhurst, Monte Casino, Mall of Africa, and Pretoria Zoo routes. You can track where the next bus is on the Gautrain app or call +27 10 223 1098.
BUS FARES
Gaubus fares are dependant on Rail on non-Rail usage and travelling during peak or off-peak periods, and vary between R6 and R22. All Midibus tickets cost R13 whether you are a Rail user or not and at all times of day.
PAYMENT
To use the Gaubus connections you will need a Gautrain card or a contactless bank card, as cash is not accepted on board. One Gautrain card or contactless bank card must be used per passenger. To use the Midibuses, passengers can purchase a Midibus Ticket at stations that offer Midibus services. The Midibus service does not use the Gautrain card or contactless bank cards.
USING THE BUSES
Flag the bus while waiting at a Gautrain bus stop by raising your hand as the bus approaches. When boarding a Gaubus, hold your Gautrain card or contactless bank card to the Card Validator and wait for the green light and beep. Press the buzzer to alert the driver of your intention to disembark the bus at the next stop. Do not tag out when exiting the bus. When boarding a Gautrain Midibus, give the driver your paper ticket as a form of payment and let them know of your stop to disembark.
ACCESSIBILITY
Every second bus to depart is wheelchair-equipped.
SERVICE DELAYS
Significant delays will be communicated via SMS, the Gautrain app, or on social media. Information will also be relayed through announcements and signage at the station. To register for service updates, SMS the word 'ALERT' to 44181 at a once-off cost of R1.
