Hop on, hop off: Joburg Gautrain bus routes made easy

24 Oct 2025
It's a source of great pride – a public transport service that is efficient, clean, reliable, well-run, well-maintained and fast. The shiny-gold Gautrain (pronounced ‘how-train’) links the Johannesburg City Centre (Park Station) with the main business districts of the north (Sandton and Rosebank) and beyond to Pretoria, the east, and O.R. Tambo International Airport. Complementing the rail network is a fleet of Gaubuses and Midibuses which connect stations to nearby suburbs, making the system one of the most convenient ways to get around the city. New routes were launched (September 2025) from Rosebank to Parkhurst, Midrand to Halfway House, and Sandton to Monte Casino. Keep reading for our guide.
