Skemerson (translated roughly as 'sun cry moon' in English) is an uplifting new South African film about overcoming depression that is inspired by a true story. The film opens with the film's lead character standing atop the Bloukrans bridge preparing to take his own life. When he meets two strangers on the bridge, a young woman and her frail elderly mother, the trio end up spending a weekend together that changes all of their lives. A tender and moving look at the challenges of overcoming guilt and mental illness.
