The exhibition Fata Libelli (Lat. "books have their destiny") features collections of old books that travelled through the ages, changed hands, were sometimes stolen, sometimes just borrowed and never returned to their mother library, found in the farm field, or left on the battleground by a soldier. The precise fate of books may never be known, but a lot can be reconstructed from various inscriptions written on their pages. This exhibition is a walk through history, sometimes very personal and emotional. The books displayed at the exhibition serve as witnesses of this history.
