Irena Kalicka: Harvest Festival

Irena Kalicka is a filmmaker, a photographer and a collage artist inspired by literary and anthropological texts. The photographs of herself, her friends and relatives reveal a generation of people struggling with corporeality and identity. Symbolic clown masks worn by them are an attempt to distance themselves from various forms of fanaticism eroding Polish society today - nationalism, intolerance, xenophobia, political propaganda and religious fundamentalism, just to name a few. Harvest Festival offers a glimpse into these issues through the prism of ambiguity and humour.
