From June 16-18 Kraków locals and tourists will experience the enchantment of old ages along the banks of the Wisła below Wawel Castle. The St. John’s Fair is an annual 3-day celebration full of good food, shows, processions and the chance to become familiar with Polish and European history. On Friday when the cooks and craftsmen have set up their tents, King Henryk Walezy (monarch of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from 1573 to 1575) will be organising a ball for his fiancee, Anna Jagiellonka, complete with dancers and comedians. On Saturday Polish kings Zygmunt Stary and Zygmunt August will be celebrating their name day, while on Sunday King Stefan Batory will arrive to admire the artists. A great destination for kids and families, every moment of the fair will be fun-filled because of horse shows, dancers and talented re-enactors.
