In celebration of 150 years of public transport in Kraków, vintage vehicles from the collection of Museum of Engineering & Technology will be on display in the very space that served as a transport depot for many years: Czyżyny Hangar. Visitors will see iconic buses that once ruled the roads of Krakow, including the Jelcz 021 – the only surviving original example of this vehicle, and the San H01B from 1959 – a unique example that amazed with its modernity in the 1950s. The ‘hearts’ of the vehicles will also be on display, namely the impressive, powerful Škoda 706 RT and Raba – MAN D2156 engines. There will also be city taxis and their equipment from the 1960s and 1970s, plus archival photos, old tickets, historic ticket validators and ticket machines, such as the characteristic ‘Krak’ lever validator and the ‘Krab’ ticket machine from the early 1970s. All this will allow you to immerse yourself in the history of bus transport in Krakow. For some, it will be a memory of the past, for others – a completely new perspective on public transport. The exhibition is accompanied by an educational programme for all motoring enthusiasts and more.
